Ready for adventure?

We offer guided hiking and sightseeing trips around the mountains and fjords of Norway.  The standard trips explore hidden gems, well trodden paths and famous hikes all per your choice of activity level.

Our most popular trip is a 9 day adventure that starts with day hikes from a private cabin to allow you to rejuvenate after traveling to Norway.  We then visit the old Viking capital of Trondheim before moving deep into the Jotunheimen National Park mountains trekking on century old trails using the national hut system.  Next Sognefjorden, the world's 2nd longest & deepest fjord, awaits where a swim might be your choice of refresh!  We continue southward and after another night in the mountains we finish with sightseeing in the capital city of Oslo.

Custom trips

Many people already have a connection to Norway by ancestry, friends or particular interests.  We would be happy to custom tailor trips to visit the family farm, or village, where your ancestors lived, or visit a particular region of interest.

Furthermore, our trips can easily be made shorter/longer, more strenuous with different and additional trekking sections, or less challenging for more leisurely sightseeing.

We would also very much like to entertain inquiries about trips at other times of the year than those presented in our regular schedule below.

Practical comfort

All nights are spent in the warm comfort of a bed in a cabin, lodge, or hotel.  In the cabins and lodges blankets are provided so all you need to bring is a light sleeping bag, or linen bag, to sleep in.  Traveling hut-to-hut in the mountains allows us to carry a light trekking pack with only personal items instead of complete camping gear packs.  Non-essential additional clothing can be stored during the hiking sections of the trip.  A recommended packing list will be provided.

Forests and sub-alpine

Forests and sub-alpine

Forests and sub-alpine

Much of Norway's central and eastern valleys are covered with pine forests and light growth sub-alpine terrain.  These areas are wonderful hiking terrain as the vegetation provide protection from wind and weather.

Alpine terrain

Forests and sub-alpine

In most of Norway the timberline is below 1000m so the vast array of alpine trekking trails are below elevations where people's breathing is typically affected by the thin air.

Hut and lodge system

In the mountains we access the hut system of the DNT (Norwegian Trekking Association), a combination of spartan self-service and comfortable full-service huts and lodges.
